Loading subtitles for Media Player Classic (MPC)

Its easy to load subtitles in .srt and .sub formats. While your video is playing, all you need to do is drag-and-drop the subtitle file on the MPC.

If this does not work, try switching your video output to Video Mixing Renderer (renderless) 9 or 7. Right-click over MPC, go to Options->Playback->Output, then under DirectShow Video, choose VMR 7 or 9, then Apply.

Again, drag-and-drop the subtitle file.

If this still does not work, go to Options->Subtitles and make sure that Override placement is checked, then Apply.

Same step, drag-and-drop the subtitle file.

You can drag-and-drop a lot of subtitle files of different languages as you wish. Switching to different language requires you to change it under Subtitles.

If nothing works at all, try reverting to the x32 bit version of MPC and repeat all the above steps.

If it still does not work, install CCCP.

Still not working, try VLC.

Nothing else works here, open the subtitle file using notepad or gedit. Read the lines while playing the video.
